Black & White
Astory about identity, about love, about loneliness, about the moments that define us, and about the moments in-between
Black & White is a novel about a girl named Elise, who’s followed by an unknowable darkness that she calls Theo. The idea was born from a haunting sense of alienation and isolation, and the desperation to be known, and to not be alone. The novel explores this idea and the consequences of fulfilling such a wish, and that wish takes the form of Theo, who’s always with Elise, even if she doesn’t want him to be.
After endless iterations of this story, I’ve finally settled on a version of it that I like, and ultimately, this is a story written for myself and my characters. It’s a love letter written to this cast that has been with me through incredibly difficult times. Characters who I’ve had complex feelings toward, characters who I’ve cared for, respected, envied, hated, pitied, and admonished. Characters who I’ve ultimately come to love in their entirety, for everything they are. Characters who I’m excited to share with the world, so that you might fall in love with them, too.
I’m currently exploring options for both self-publishing and traditional publishing. For any business inquiries about Black & White, feel free to reach out.
