A sketch is an unfinished story
I think sketches and doodles are the essence of what makes art, art:
a sloppy, unrefined desire to create
I used to be ashamed of my sketches, but now they bring me joy.
I like to look at my old sketches to see how far I’ve come, but also to see what kinds of things used to inspire me.
What things did I see in the world that were so beautiful that it overcame my shame and embarrassment to create?
